Max Silverstein, one of the founders of the American and World Jewish Congresses, died here yesterday at the age of 76. In addition to his activities with the AJC and WJC, Mr. Silverstein was once a grand master of the order of Brith Abraham and a founding member of Yeshiva University. He was also active in synagogue affairs and served as a consultant on humanitarian affairs to various Congressional committees.
